The Center

It is hard to watch, listen or read the news right now. This political season has seemed particularly unpredictable and difficult. As I write this I don’t presume that whoever reads it will vote the way I do and that is okay. As a follower of Christ, I have to remind myself to look to him first for guidance and direction. It is always faith that should inform my politics, and not my politics that should inform my faith.

I turned to Romans 12 this morning and felt like the words of the Apostle Paul were drawing me in to consider my identity as a Christian in light of a this chaotic political season. I invite you to read them and prayerfully consider them for yourself too.

For those who are hurt, worried, despondent, angry, insulted, fearful, this moment of prayer is for you. May our love be genuine and our eyes fixed on the One who bring salvation and light to all things.
