Rochelle has been pastor of Sumner FCC for over 12 years. A graduate of Texas Christian University and Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas, she is married to John Richards, and they have two daughters.

Donna Spurgeon has been the office administrator for Sumner First Christian Church since 2005. She works in the church office Monday-Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and is available to take calls and answer questions about the church (or direct them to right person). Donna is a native of the area and has numerous family and friends who live close by.

Barbara Stone is our very talented choir director who has also been with Sumner First Christian Church for numerous years. Barbara also works as a music therapist for several local retirement centers and is a talented seamstress. Barbara can work with all abilities to help the choir come together and sing beautifully.
Rudy has been the custodian/building manager for Sumner First Christian Church for numerous years. Rudy is the quiet behind-the-scenes person who makes the church look good, sets up and breaks down tables and helps repair things in the building. Though he is a native Texan and Cowboys fan, Rudy has settled into life as a Washingtonian (and likes the Sea Hawks well enough).
Michael Vebber is our very talented church pianist. Michael is a graduate of PLU and plays both piano and organ. When he is not working at Ted Brown Music store or playing for church rehearsals/services, he also teaches private piano lessons and enjoys photography. Michael is a native of the area and lives close by family and friends.
Tracy Scott is our nursery attendant for children from birth-3 years of age. Tracy works full time during the week in an early childhood setting and also has years of experience working with special needs children. Tracy lives with her family in Sumner.
Karlene has grown up in Sumner First Christian Church and has helped provide child care for many years. Karlene teaches children’s church for children in grades preschool-1st grade during worship and also provides child care for many church functions. When she is not at church Karlene works for Kenworth and is currently going to school to work toward complete her higher education degree.
Maranda Colwell teaches our 2nd-5th grade Children’s Church class on Sunday mornings. Maranda has grown up in First Christian Church and is a recent graduate of Sumner High School. Maranda will be attending Pierce College in the fall to study early childhood education. When she is not at church, Maranda enjoys being with her family and friends.
