Ascension Sunday stands as the in between time of Easter and Pentecost. On this day, we hear the story of Jesus being taken up into heaven and the promise he leaves his bereaved disciples, “I am sending the Holy Spirit…you will not be alone.” As we stand in the in between time

This past Sunday we gathered earlier than usual to join the Northern Lights Regional Assembly worship at 9:30 a.m. The planning team for that event did a wonderful job and the technology team worked past a few initial glitches to help those of us joining remotely, feel like we were in the room

Today we turn to the story of Jesus healing a paralyzed man and we consider the miraculous power of friendship. It is the loving devotion and care of the  paralyzed man’s friends that lead him to Jesus and to the healing of spirit and body. May we have such friends in our lives and may we
