What does the Bible say about prayer? Prayer is many things in the Bible. In Matthew 6, there are few things that Jesus says prayer is not: it is not spectacle and it is not empty ritual. Jesus assures us that God knows our needs before we utter a word in prayer. Jesus also instructs that prayer involves an element of forgiveness, stating that unless we extend forgiveness, we do not receive it. We humbly strive to follow Jesus example as we grow in our life of prayer.
