On this Easter, we stand with Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb and hear the question, “why are you weeping?” It is a good question to ponder in these days. As we do so, and understand the depth of Mary’s grief at the tomb, we hear Jesus say our names. As with Mary, we instantly recognize that we are fully recognized when Jesus knows and calls us by name. Even when we have questions about the Easter story, we hear and accept the Good News that we are fully known and loved by God…and God will never forget our name.
