On this 4th Sunday of Advent, we consider what is meant by blindness and how we might view this story beyond the cultural lens of ableism.. The healing sign in John’s Gospel is not just for the unnamed man, nor is it merely a physical healing. Jesus exposes our spiritual blindness and shows us what restoration and expansion of vision and wisdom might look like.
