We hear the Palm Sunday story from Matthew’s Gospel and consider that two parades happened in Jerusalem on that day: one for Jesus and one for Pilate. Jesus represents humility and peace, Pilate represents the empire, power and coercion. The questions for us as we enter Holy Week: Where are we headed? Which leader will we follow? Which leader will we become? At which parade will we show up?
