Journeying is a metaphor often used to describe life and a theme present in many Biblical Stories. Today we consider the journeys of Elijah into the wilderness and two of Jesus disciples on the road to Emmaus. We consider the important of silence and Sacrament in times of great personal loss/overwhelm and/or communal chaos and change. In the silence and through the Sacrament (particularly Communion), we discover Jesus has been with us all along.
