This week we look to the story of Saul’s conversion and are reminded how an encounter and growing relationship with God can be powerful enough to unravel our self-sufficiency and ego. The story reminds us of the radical grace of God that is open for all. We strive to remember the offensive nature of this grace when we feel others who don’t deserve it receive it and the convicting nature of this grace that illuminates that part of us that is exactly like those we judge as unworthy. Ultimately, we are all open-handed, empty and in need of a love and grace that is beyond ourselves.
