Oftentimes we see disruptions in life in a negative way and have a difficult time seeing and understanding them as, sometimes being, a part of needed change in our lives. The story of Jacob’s exodus from his home and the vision of God and the promise of God in a foreign place, remind us that God’s kingdom is close at hand, even in times of change and transition.
