The church universal today is in trouble. We are riddled with scandal—of sexual and emotional abuse. We are weakened by our alliance with and idolization of political power. And we are witnessing to hate in our exclusion of people based on their sexual identity.

The story of Christ is a story of Transfiguration–the painful process of transforming into something more beautiful and elevated. We have much work to do.
