Happiness is a feeling that we enjoy when times are good. But sometimes happiness comes from emptying, from giving, from letting go.

In today’s scripture, as Jesus speaks of glorification and the ending of his time on earth, and he knows that it is through being together — through unity — that his disciples, but then and now, will make it through darker days to see glory on the other side.

“Holy Father, protect them in your name…that they may be one as we are one.”
