In this passage of Scripture, a rich man is loved and challenged to sell his possessions, give the money to the poor and then come, follow Jesus. We often try to soft-peddle this Scripture, making it seem less demanding than it really is. But the truth is that the call of Christ in our lives IS challenging–but not impossible. With God, Jesus assures us, all things are made possible…even liquidating the things that possess and own us. Regardless of our ability to listen and follow, we rest assured that Jesus looks upon us and loves us always.
