Never Good Enough

Posted on 05 Jul 2020, Pastor: Rochelle Richards

In today’s story we find Jesus pausing in the moment of realization (which he shares with his disciples) that his work and ministry will never be good enough for some. As others argue over the validity of Jesus’ ministry and identity, Jesus himself gives thanks that God reveals the essence of his nature to “the infants” rather than the wise–and what God reveals is that Jesus is our “yoke-mate,” always tethered to us and pulling for us in our times of hurting, burden, labor and fatigue. The simple message is that Jesus works with us and gives us what we need the most which is rest.

Today’s message is based on Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30.
