As we mark the National Observance of Children’s Sabbath, we remember that we need to roll up our sleeves and do our part to bring hope to the lives of the smallest and most vulnerable in our world.
We are not called upon to shrink from the world and its problems, clinging to end times theology as a means of coping with what we perceive as a deteriorating situation in the world. Were that the case, God would never have chosen to be with us.
We remember what it was like to first know the love of Jesus and to remember that we have an obligation to do what we can to bring others, even the smallest and weakest among us, to Jesus so that he may lay his hands on them and pray for them.
Today’s message is based on Matthew 19 13-15
