Jesus words about his impending trial and crucifixion offend the understanding of Peter and others. We have a hard time reconciling a suffering Christ with a powerful God and yet this is a part of the revelation of God in Christ. The Good news to be found is that we are not alone in our suffering and suffering is never the final word.
