James is “a general” letter that circulated to many early churches (as opposed to being written, like many of Paul’s letters, to a specific community). Though the authenticity of authorship is doubted by scholarship, there is so much valuable words and inspiration in the letter of James. Today we consider what it means to be “doers and not just hearers.” We consider what it means to have a balanced faith-life of grace/works (faith without works is fruitless….works without faith is rootless).
