God comes, in the form of a burning bush, to Moses on an ordinary day in the midst of his ordinary tasks. The fire of God’s Spirit draws Moses in and upon holy ground where he hears God’s call for his life and converses with God about that call and about who God is. The fire of God’s Spirit comes to us in ordinary ways on ordinary days and suddenly we find ourselves on ground that, though familiar, is holy. On this ground, where God calls and converses with us, we are reminded that God “will be with us.”
