Jesus Calms a Storm

Posted on 28 Jun 2020, Pastor: Rochelle Richards

There are bound to be storms that come into everyone’s life and a good question to ask is, “who is in your boat?” In the story of Jesus calming the storm, the disciples are rightfully panicked in the midst of a terrible storm that threatens their lives. Jesus asks the question, “Where is your faith?” not so much as a corrective, but as an instruction. Where is our faith in the midst of storms? Where do we locate our hope and help when we feel overwhelmed as though all things are falling apart? Jesus is a trustworthy shipmate during these trying times and we can always find his calm and quiet in our own hearts. Take some time this week to practice some of the calming and quieting practices we have been doing in the past weeks.

This weeks message is based on Luke 8:22-25.
