Expectations are one of the hardest things to deal with as a human being.

We can’t help but have them. We get used to life being a certain way and expect that it will always be like that. We put in work toward something with the expectation that a certain outcome will happen. We enter into relationships with the expectation of friendship, love, loyalty, help and mutual support.

But sometimes it is our expectations themselves that cause us the most grief, including how we believe Jesus should be.
