In a society where needs and wants are so readily satisfied, it is easy to feel we deserve all of those daily things that we take for granted.

It is the same for our spiritual lives as well, and in today’s lesson from Matthew 20:1-16, Jesus tells the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard.

The story cuts to the heart of feelings of injustice when others get the same (or more) than they seemingly deserve. Through the story, Jesus calls us to live humbly and to remember that God’s generous grace is given unconditionally for all.
