For anyone who has ever felt they don’t belong, that you are not of particular value, Jesus in the scripture upon which today’s sermon is based tries to convince you otherwise.

Like the lovely and rare pearl in today’s scripture parable — formed and perfected through hardships and difficulties — you are the pearl of great price He seeks and for whom he gives his all.
