Studies in Contrast

Posted on 01 Mar 2015, Pastor: Rochelle Richards

Today’s message focuses on a story of two people who have had their debts forgiven — one a small debt and the other remarkably large.

The lesson Jesus is imparting has to do with notions that we are more worthy in God’s eyes than others because we live better lives; are better people.

A part of the contrast is that the one who does not think he has much to be forgiven, really does.  The one who sees himself as better than others, really is not.

In the end, we are all debtors, saddled with a debt load we can never repay. For that we must trust in God to relieve of us of the burdens we bear.

Today’s message is based on Luke 7: 41-47
