Why small groups? Small groups offer the opportunity to get to know people, find support and friendship and explore questions of life and faith in a safe environment. Topics for this series of small groups will include:
*The Cup of Our Life: A Guide for Spiritual Growth by Joyce Rupp, led by Kris Kistler
*Revelation (Interpretation Bible Study Series) by William C. Pender, led by Rev. Rochelle Richards
“But I don’t have time for a small group.” Of course you don’t. Life is busy. But consider this thought from Rev. Molly Phinney Baskette in her book Real Good Church and make plans to stop by and try out a small group:
"Taking a break from our hectic lives to come to church is accepting the gift of Sabbath. Wayne Mueller says: '[Sabbath] dissolves the artificial urgency of our days, because it liberates us from the need to be finished.' We don't take Sabbath and come to worship because we have time and have finished up everything that needs to be done. We take Sabbath because it is time to stop, and we are designed to stop, rest and reflect. Those who don't are destined to crash and burn."
