Summer Sermon Series

August 14, 2016 - August 28, 2016 | 10:15 am - 10:15 am

Why is there so much singing in a worship service? Singing and songs have been a part of most religious worship services. A Broadway actress once said, “when an emotion becomes intense, actors will sing…and when that emotion becomes too intense for singing, they dance.” Perhaps this is why Moses’ sister, Miriam both sang and danced as the Israelites left Egypt as a free people. This summer, we will explore the Psalms and their rich history as songs expressing the deepest and most intense of human emotions. You need not be singer to enjoy this series, simply a person who is open to expressing honest emotion in the presence of God.
