Prayer Labyrinth & Worship

March 6, 2019 | 7:00 pm

The season of Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter patterned after Jesus’ wilderness wandering) begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6th. The season of Lent is a time when Christians focus intentionally on the practices of fasting, prayer and giving. We will begin the season with a Prayer Labyrinth, available in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on March 6th. If you have not walked a prayer labyrinth before, it is a wonderful way to pause, pray and reflect on one’s life and relationship with God. Labyrinth’s were used in Medieval churches to simulate pilgrimages (journeys to important places such as the Holy Land) for those who were unable to do so. We will conclude with a simple marking of the ashes service at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
